Entering Farmer 20133
We are a family of five looking to begin our own farming operations. Ideally, we would like to purchase our own farm, and learn how the prior farmer operated. While I have experience growing up and working on hay farms, cattle farms and vegetable farms, I am a beginner farmer that would also be completing a beginner farmer certification program.
I currently work in the medical field and would continue to work my normal job. This job allows me a great amount of flexibility as I work from home and travel regionally on occasion to present at conferences and other professional events. I work in a business development managerial role and have experience in direct marketing, marketing to large groups, and niche marketing for unique products. Since I work from home mostly, we are open to any location, as we are not dependent on living in an area close to a working location.
We have an LLC that has successfully managed a woodland/vegetable operation and enough cash set aside for a down payment on a farm.
Looking for 10-60 acres, but am open to farming more acreage in a vegetable/crop operation. Currently located in Monroe county but will move within PA for the right opportunity.
Reason: After serving six years in the US Army as an Infantryman, I am now looking to find a place for my family and I to call "home". We had previously moved due to career demands, but now we are in a role where my career allows us the ability to stay in one place. My wife and I both agree that raising our children in a rural/country setting is much better than being dictated by the whims of urbanization. We want to run our own farming operation and set something sustainable up that can be handed down to our children and grandchildren.
